World Tourism Day is commemorated each year on 27 September, with celebrations led by UNWTO. Its purpose is to foster awareness among the global community of tourism’s social, cultural, political and economic value and the contribution the sector can make in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2019, in line with UNWTO’s overarching focus on skills, education and jobs throughout the year, World Tourism Day will be a celebration on the topic ‘Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all’.
To celebrate this day, the City Council of Serra has scheduled for Saturday, September 28, a free route aimed at the family audience. You can not miss the theatrical route in search of the lost sword of Jaume I, which will travel the streets of our population.
The time of the meeting will be at 11:30 am in the parking of the town hall, next to the Tourist Info. You only need to bring appropriate footwear.
Although the route is free, it needs prior registration, since places are limited. To register, you must go, before September 24, to the Tourism Office of Serra, by phone 961688404 or by email serra@touristinfo.net.
The urban route is dramatized by Calderona Viva, in it we will know the Muslim past of our municipality and the legends of Jaume I.
