Serra’s gastronomy, in the heart of the Serra Calderona is again in luck. Three restaurants in town have again received the Cullera de Fusta (wood spoon). An award that Wikipaella association gives to restaurants that cook authentic Valencian paella with firewood.
Serra has six restaurants that are specialized in firewood paella’s.El Chaparral, La Garrofera and El Descanso have been the three places awarded. In addition, the first two have been recognized with the great Wood Spoon, which has been awarded for five consecutive years.
Serra has six restaurants that cook Valencian paella with firewood as well as other restaurants that follow their traditional and orthodox recipe for this rice. A true sanctuary of the most universal dish of the Valencians in the incomparable setting of the Sierra Calderona Natural Park.
“Gastronomy is one of the main attractions to our village. Nature and heritage go hand by hand with the culinary experience” says Serra’s Mayoress Alicia Tusón. “We are working to make tourism one of the main engines of our economy,” she adds. The village, in the middle of Serra Calderona, fills its bars and restaurants with visitors every weekend having an incredible familiar environment. Visitors thar are looking for a combination of nature and gastronomy in the heart of the natural park.
