The Serra Town Council continues to work on the tourism development of the municipality and for that reason has developed the strategic tourism plan. This tool developed in recent months integrates analysis, strategy and design of actions and has had the participation of local stakeholders.
“Through this work process we have defined the ideal tourism model and established the necessary steps to achieve it” says the mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón and adds: “It is a fundamental tool in which local companies linked to the sector have participated.”
The plan identifies 6 objectives for the development of Serra as a tourist destination: boosting tourism activity, positioning the destination and consolidating its tourist identity, increasing demand and average expenditure, strengthening tourism management, improving tourist services and a firm commitment to sustainable development.
The work process has been carried out in three phases, the integral analysis of the locality to obtain a solid base of information, the second stage focused on defining a tourism model and, in a third phase, an action plan has been designed. At the same time, a participatory process has been carried out involving local businessmen and social agents.
The plan is financed with the help of the Diputación de València within the Impulsem Turisme program. Serra is working to be declared a tourist municipality within the parameters of the Valencian tourism law.
