This year it will not be possible either. The town of Serra will not celebrate its patron saint festivities this summer. This has been decided between the festive groups and the City Council of Serra after several meetings that have been held in recent weeks.
The decision has been taken by consensus between clavarios and clavariesas of Sant Josep, Mare de Déu dels Àngels, Sant Roc, bullfighting clubs, parish and town hall due to the impossibility of holding all events normally. Thus, it will have to wait until next summer to celebrate the traditional festivities.
“We will have to make an extra effort so that next year we can all celebrate them as we should,” says the mayor, Alicia Tusón. “We will have an intense cultural and recreational program with all the security measures as we did last year,” says the mayor. In the same way, the festive groups do not rule out programming any activity that complies with the covid19 regulations.
The festivities in honor of Sant Josep and the Mare de Déu dels Àngels are held during the last days of July and early August. Then Sant Roc, which was declared a festival of Provincial Tourist Interest last year, is celebrated. The bullfighting events close the program at the end of August.
