Serra will host, from October 21 to November 4, the second gastronomic days: pumpkin, tradition and innovation. This second edition will involve 9 local businesses: 7 bars and restaurants and 2 stores. The conference will also include the 3rd National Contest with pumpkin pot Vicente Granero Vila de Serra and the II popular contest. In addition, there will be an afternoon of tastings.
With the celebration of these gastronomic days and competitions “we want to encourage the consumption of our establishments that offer quality and proximity. At the same time we want to raise awareness and recover the pot with pumpkin, a traditional dish of the cuisine of Serra,” says the mayor, Alicia Tusón.
In this way and for two weekends, stores and restaurants will offer products where the pumpkin will be the protagonist.
The participating stores are Horno San Joaquín and Carnes Aliaga. In addition, seven bars and restaurants will offer different dishes or menus with pumpkin: Casa Granero Restaurant, Chaparral Restaurant, Descanso Bar Restaurant, La Garrofera Restaurant, Polideportivo Bar and Porta Coeli Brewery.
On October 30 will be held the III edition of the National Contest of Pot with Pumpkin Vicente Granero Vila de Serra in which 12 restaurants will participate and on November 4 will be held the local version of the contest.
On the 31st there will be an afternoon of tastings in which restaurants and stores participating in the conference and a pumpkin decorating contest for children.
In the words of the mayoress: “the days are the result of the work of everyone to offer unique and authentic experiences, which assert our cultural heritage in every sense of the word”. This event was born last year to strengthen tourism businesses and stores in the town.
