The United Nations General Assembly designated 11 December as “International Mountain Day”. In 2021, it proclaimed 2022 as the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development.
The year 2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the first International Year of Mountains (International Year of Mountains 2002), as well as the 20th anniversary of the Mountain Partnership.
Thus, the designation of 2022 as the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development recognises the need to adapt sustainable development measures to mitigate the effects of climate change in these territories through a set of actions that address their specific needs.
From Serra we propose a circular route to the Sierro, Cierro or Oronet, an emblematic peak and crossing point between Camp del Turia, Camp de Morvedre and Alto Palancia. We will walk along old paths and enjoy excellent panoramic views of the mountains of Valencia and Castellón.
