The public will be present again in the 47th edition of the Subida al Garbí to be held this weekend, December 18 and 19. The oldest race of Valencian motor racing was recovered last year after 6 years of interruption, but without public because of the anti-vid measures in force during the last year.
60 participants will compete in the mythical ascent to the Garbí next Sunday. The trial and competition tasks will start from the Tochar, in the municipality of Torres Torres to finish in the Pla de les Llomes in the municipality of Serra, at the foot of the Garbí.
The CV-310 and CV-3341 will be closed to traffic from 6.00 am.
The town will host on Saturday afternoon the technical and administrative verification of vehicles.
From 16.00 hours, in the ravine of Clara, next to the Polideportivo Municipal Héctor Catalá, and until 21.00 hours will be installed the vehicle exhibition park so that the fans can see closely the cars participating in this 47th edition of the ascent to the Garbí.
“This year we will be able to enjoy a climb like those of a lifetime, with the fans as the protagonist” says the mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón. “We welcome with enthusiasm this competition that places Serra as a benchmark of Valencian motor racing” she added during the presentation ceremony to the media held on the morning of December 15 at the Town Hall of Serra. Tusón stressed that “we must protect our environmental and natural values, but also these activities that are part of our human and cultural background”.
The presentation to the media was also attended by the president of the Escudería Bengala, Manolo Durán, who organizes the competition, and the president of the Valencian Automobile Federation, Nacho Aviñó. Both have thanked the collaboration of the consistory and other sponsors at the same time they have appealed to the fans to “extreme security measures, come with sufficient time and to be located at high points, never at the same level of the road. We must enjoy without risk.
